What you should know about air travel

NASA have been spending around $8.5 million safety project that involved the interviewing of over 24,000 commercial airline pilots over a four year period. The results of the survey were supposed to have been secret but there have been leaks and after seeing them it’s no wonder that they wanted to keep it secret.

As it turns out the pilots have reported twice as many bird strikes, near mid air collisions and runway problems than the government have been showing, which is probably down to the fact that if they let these figures out people would be less inclined to travel by air.

This is a serious problem for the industry and clearly some work is needed to sort this one out.
