Sick day, holiday or both?

In the states, Americans must feel that they do not get enough time off from work, and so they are using the time tested sick day in order to make the weekends longer or just to have a nice day relaxing. But employers hate this and so some now require a doctor’s note, or an “Excuse Note” as they call them. This should put a stop to those people who abuse the system, or does it?

There is a growing trend for internet savvy people who like the odd day off here and there, to go to specialist sites who produce doctors sick notes. These range in cost from $10 right up to more than $50, I suppose it depends on how ill you want to be!

But never to be outdone, employers are stating that if employees are caught using one of these fake sick notes, they could be fired. Now that would really make them sick!
