Eat healthy say fast food producers

It may seem to be something of a double standard when the makers of food products that are high in fat, sugar and salt are getting together with the government to promote healthy eating, yet with obesity still on the rise, something has to be done.

The campaign is being called “Change of Life” and will see supermarkets and stores coming up with special offers on fresh food and businesses being encouraged to help their staff with exercise and even breakfast clubs.

Figures recently released show that currently around a quarter of all adults are no classified as being obese, but these figures also predict that if current trends continue by 2050 sixty per cent of men, fifty per cent of women and twenty five per cent of children will be obese.
