Sofa gives man heart failure

There was a time when buying a brand new sofa was a major point in some people’s lives, but these days buying major household items is not so difficult, which is why there has been a massive growth in the amount of stores selling leather sofas.

Buying his brand new leather sofa should have been a great occasion for Barry Green aged 63 from Plymouth in Devon, yet soon after taking delivery of the £545 sofa from Land of Leather he began experiencing various health issues, which eventually ended up with him in hospital with heart failure.

Mr Green is now in the process of taking Land of Leather to court, claiming that his heart failure has been brought on by the fungicide used by the manufacturers to preserve the sofas while they are in transit.

A spokesperson for Land of Leather said: “As the subject matter of the report is part of ongoing High Court proceedings, the matter is subjudice and as a result we are advised by leading counsel that it is improper for us to comment.”
