Boy makes new solar cell

This is the type of news that we like to hear, it’s about a twelve year old boy named, William Yuan from Beaverton, Oregon in the States, nothing spectacular about that until you know what he has been able to make.

He has developed a new type of solar cell; yes, this is a twelve year old boy who has achieved what the big companies have been trying to do for years.

What different about this solar cell is that it uses both UV and visible light which makes all of the difference, because this solar cell absorbs five hundred time more light than a conventional solar cell. This innovation has earned the boy a $25,000 grant to develop this further.
