New record for Eurostar

The UK side of the Eurostar rail track has been seriously slow right from the word go, but thanks to a massive investment the track is now up to speed, in fact taking the train from now on could see you travelling at almost 200 mph in the UK.

The trip from Paris to London, St Pancras. Took a mere two hours and three minutes, whereas the usual run would have taken around two hours and thirty five minutes, which maybe only half an hour or so, but makes a hell of a lot of difference when you are sitting on the train. These times also make the Eurostar highly competitive with the low cost airlines, after all the train travels to and from the city centres, while the airlines end up way outside the cities.

The Eurostar can now compete for the huge surge in travel in the lead up to the Olympics in the London in 2012!
