Car security codes cracked

When we lock our cars with the remote key fob we feel safe and secure knowing that it is virtually impossible for anyone else to come along and have the same device, until now that is. For researchers at the Ruhr University in Germany have found way around this system and can gain access to cars, buildings, and garages.

The system used is Keeloq, this uses a radio frequency identification system (RFID) which would normally be tamper proof, but now it seems that this system is not as secure as we may feel. For the research team have found a way where they can clone the signal and get access to the car or building.

They simply scan a car park where people are coming and going all of the time, they can target up to 100 metres so they do not have to be suspicious at all, once the code has been obtained then it is only a matter of loading the code into a device, then they are in.
